Bathrooms don't always have to be sleek and smooth. Sometimes a few rough edges can add character and dimension to a space. Many converted lofts feature exposed brick, but when it comes to their bathrooms, those bricks are often covered up with plaster. Before you run out and grab your putty knife, check out these approaches to featuring the look of brick in the bathroom.

Try a brick splashback
Brick is durable and, when properly sealed, holds up well to water exposure. This bathroom, designed by The Ransom Company, features a brick splashback. The red of the brick adds colour and a rugged appeal to the otherwise all-white space.
